(62) LILY PARTRIDGE SETS NEW SURREY BEST TIME FOR MARATHON

Running in the Maratón Valencia Trinidad Alfonso held on 3rd December 2023 in Valencia, Spain Lily Partridge (Birchfield H) set a new fastest time for a Surrey female athlete of 2:25.09. The previous fastest time of 2:27.16 was set by Steph Davis (Clapham Chasers) in 2021.

(64) EUROPEAN CROSS-COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS, BRUSSELS, BELGIUM, 10TH DECEMBER 2023

WILL BARNICOAT - EUROPEAN U23 CHAMPION
Following on from winning the U20 title in 2022 Will Barnicoat (AFD) has become the 2023 U23 Champion. He also won a further Gold Medal as the GB team won the team race.

In the U20W race Katie Pye (AFD) finished 28th. She was the 4th GB finisher and the team won the Gold Medal.

(65) DORIS DEAN

We have received news that Doris Dean sadly died on December 28th . Doris was a long time serving member of Surrey AC / Kingston AC / Kingston AC & Polytechnic Harriers. She was the Club Secretary of Surrey AC from 1960 -1980. Throughout her involvement with athletics she contributed a great deal to both club and County and she was the Joint-President of Surrey County Women's AAA with her husband in 1974.
