(21) SURREY COUNTY RECORD FOR SENIOR MEN 3 MILES, 1ST AUGUST 1953. Competing in the GB v FRANCE International held at White City, London on 1st August 1953 where he won the 3 Miles Gordon Pirie (SLH) with a time of 13:36.4 set a new Surrey Record. This performance was also a British Allcomers, a British National and an English Native Record. Gordon beat the previous Surrey record of 13:41. 8 which he set in June.
